When you start learning something new, you will be challenged and might feel insecure and scared to enter this new realm.

Yet many people just go to the gym and start using machines and go figure it out by themselves. This strategy gets you off the couch and into the gym for some time. But you might find yourself not knowing about which weights to pick, how many sets and reps to do. And over time you don’t see the results you want and then you stop. Sounds familiar?

Others don’t even dare to enter a gym, because they don’t know how to start improving their fitness and feel intimidated by muscular gym rats. Dymphy used to fall into this category. She started working out in a small women only gym in her hometown. And 2 years later when her girlfriends went to Basic Fit, she dared to join but had no clue what to do.

If you want to become better in what you do, you get a coach. The first step is the hardest and you’ve just set the first step. What is fundamentals training?

  • Learn the basic movements: squat, hinge, push, pull and how to engage your core.
  • Learn how to perform strength exercises: the checkpoints of each exercise and how to correct your form.
  • Understand why you do certain exercises.
  • Learn the key principles of training: the reps, sets, weights, work-rest ratio, how to recover and progress.
  • Learn the key principles of nutrition and lifestyle. For weight loss, gaining muscle mass & energy. 
  • Get weekly measurements.
  • Set exercise, nutrition and lifestyle goals. Like getting your first 10 push ups, eating more vegetables and putting your phone away 30 minutes before bedtime.

The program starts simple and effective. It’s okay to feel insecure. We teach you all the points above in a step-by-step approach. We won’t overload you with information. It’s our mission to help you grow into feeling skilled and confident in the gym and the rest of your life!
